Leading LEED

The Interbay district has been selected as one of a few locations in the country to
participate in the LEED Neighborhood Development Pilot Project by the U.S Green
Building Council. The INA is proactive and committed to the promotion of sustainable
building practices as evidenced by the participation in the LEED Pilot Project.

This project will be used to analyze various criteria for establishing large-scale “neighborhood” initiatives for LEED.

The INA comprehensive plan supports land-use policies that are designed to reduce sprawl, preserve and generate open space, and create compact urban communities that foster vibrant and friendly street life. Higher density zoning at Interbay encourages the use of public transit, bike routes, and commuter-trip reduction programs.
