Features
The INA Master Plan includes the following features:
- Zoning for all current Interbay Industrial (IG2U/45’) property will remain unchanged. A mixed-use zoning overlay district will be developed and applied to the Interbay Neighborhood area. It will modify height restrictions, uses, and housing densities. For a map of proposed height restrictions, click here.
- Streets throughout the master plan area shall be improved, including repaving, and lighting.
- Truck access to and within industrial areas shall be preserved or improved.
- Traffic signals and signage shall be updated to improve traffic flow.
- Pedestrian access, safety, and enjoyment throughout the area shall be improved, including new sidewalks, crosswalks, landscaping, lighting and furniture.
- Street, signal and sidewalk improvements will be funded through creation of a Local Improvement District.
Next Steps
To complete the Master Planning Process:
- INA will work with neighborhood members, City of Seattle Department of Planning and Development (DPD), BINMIC, and other neighborhood groups to determine the final features of the proposed zoning overlay.
- City Council directed DPD to return to Council by July 1, 2006 with legislation to establish the overlay zone.
