The INA is committed to supporting and enhancing opportunities for industrial job growth in Interbay. Of the Interbay land, 14.5 acres are zoned industrial (IG-2). The INA is dedicated to preserving industrial land and jobs, while providing housing in Interbay that the local workforce finds affordable. Over the past 10 years, most of the job growth at Interbay has come from the technology and light manufacturing sectors. The owners of local industrial businesses have repeatedly expressed their desire to create a district where their employees would choose to live and their customers will be encouraged to visit. INA industrial members support the establishment of a district that will sustain existing industry, encourage growth and create mixed-use residential development. The goal is to provide workforce housing that is both attractive and affordable to their employees—jobs near homes and homes near jobs. |
